How did you find the process? Did you experience any problems? The process seems to be effective at checking and making sure that they check every quality and step in the game process. I did not find any problems with the sign up process.

While working on your Primary Game scene this week, what problems, if any, did you encounter? I encountered problems with trying to move 2 independant people at one time. I did figure out how to make buttons and go to other scenes using them. We will most likely use this game scene considering it has a good bit of code a drawings already into it or we will make something very similar.

Please discuss each one of the tutorials and tell me which one you will use in your game? We will mostly use the walking tutorial because our game will incorporate a lot of people walking and that tutorial will be very useful.

Weekly blog for 11/16/11

You have completed tutorials that demonstrated Using the Pen, Brush and Fill tools: As well as completing a star with different fills. You also traced an object, recolored it and saved it as a flash file. Choose one of the tutorials you completed this week and tell me how you will use it in your game? We may use some of these tools to help us make a better game with motr appeal to the user. It will help to make more accurate drawings.

Did you enjoy making the paper prototype? I enjoyed doing the paper prototype.
If yes what was the best part? I liked creating and visualizing my gmae and coming up with an idea of what it will look like and not just going into it blind.

Weekly blog for 10/27/11

1. What kind of game is it? Our game is a tycoon type of game.
2. What social issues does the game discuss? The game deals with moneyhandling skills that could be very useful in the world.
3. What is the main goal of the game? The goal is to win but also to learn what and what not to do in situations. As the game will probably not deal with every real world issue we hope to help with basic skills in money handling and decision making.
4. What is the main activity of the game? (e.g., platforming, puzzle solving, or others) The game is sort of a puzzle and a strategy because you have to figure out what is the best way to make money but without going broke.
5. Are there any problems with how the game works? The game may encounter some problems due to there will probably be many moving parts and many buttons to acount for in the game.

How did your team work together to come up with the idea and all the details of the game? We decided what would be the best idea that we both liked and the one that would be able to teach the player something that they could put into daily life. What excites you most about your game idea? It excites me because I personally like to play these types of games and I think it will be a good learning tool.

Now that your have worked in the Choosing Your Topic, and Imagining your Game; has your game plan changed? I hvae realized the technicality of running a business and the dangers of it and incorporating it into my game.  List one interesting fact you uncovered in the researching your game. One fact that i found interesting was the level of decision and strategy of running a business.  Which game in your stem or civics category did you like best? I liked the game shopping Empire. I commented on cody's blog.

Mini Game

Do you play games in your free time? I like to play games in my free time. Which ones do you play and why are they your favorite? I like to play adventure games and they are my favorite because it keeps me in the game and is interesting. Does this topic give you a new perspective about playing games? It gives me a new perspective on the gaming world. Why or why not? I learned that making games are a lot harder than it looks.

Game Idea

I think the type of game that stood out to me was the action genre. It let you interact and learn at the same time. One feature that stood out  to me is controling how to move by just moving my mouse and I want to learn how to do that. I would like to know how comlicated it is to learn how to make a game like that. I was not able to comment on anybody elses blog post.

Meet Flash

I learned about the sort of codes to move things around. I also learned how to navigate flash a little better.

Joining the Community

1. What does it mean to have a 'single story' about a place or community? It can affect a person about who they are and their perception of things.
2. Describe a single story you have heard told about your community. What is missing from that story? How could people learn more about that community? That people are hillbillly's. What is missing is that people here are actually willing to work and some people have traditions that make up the people.
3. Describe a single story you have heard about another community. How did you learn that story? How could you find out more about that community? I have stories about other communities that people gossip about. I think people could actually go there and find about the actual community.
4. How could a game let players experience many stories about a place or community? By letting the players learn that places may be different than what the have seen and heard and when they play the game they may be enlightened about that community.

New gadget

I added the gadget to my blog that shows the latest headlines in the news on google. I added this because i like to stay current on things and find out what is going on in the world. I visited Cody's blog and found that he had added pinball to his blog. I din't really like it to much because it wouldn't let me play it!
